Dewees Island Marina

The Dewees Island community is reached via a private ferry. All visitors riding the ferry must be preregistered guests of a property owner or an approved POA real estate agent. 

Before their voyage to Dewees Island, all ferry passengers must be entered into the ferry system by an owner or staff member. The ferry departs on the hour from Isle of Palms and on the half-hour from Dewees Island. 

When departing Dewees, the ferry must be called (843-568-3990) 45 minutes in advance to assist in the boat size selection. Be sure to tell the ferry staff how many people and pets you have and how many carts you may need.

There is ample parking at the ferry dock for golf carts. Pets must be on a leash or in a carrier. Please wear a shirt and shoes while on the ferry.

Rates

 $25.00 per individual per ferry ride ($50.00 roundtrip).

• The Ferry will not run at 1:00 pm or 1:30 pm on Wednesdays.
• The 7:30 am run leaves at 7:25 am during school days.

 

Monday through Thursday

• From the Dewees Marina on Isle of Palms 6:00 a.m. thru 10:00 p.m.
• From Dewees Island 6:30 a.m. thru 10:30 p.m.

Friday

• From the Marina on Isle of Palms 6:00am thru 11:00pm
• From Dewees Island 6:30am –thru 11:30pm

Saturday

• From the Marina on Isle of Palms 7:00am thru 11:00pm
• From Dewees Island 7:30am– 11:30pm

Sunday

• From the Marina on Isle of Palms 8:00 a.m. thru 10:00 p.m.
• From Dewees Island 8:30 a.m. – 10:30 p.m.

Please arrive for the outbound ferry approximately 10 minutes before the hour. Load your items on the carts provided and try to limit to using one to two at a time. The mate will let you know when they are ready for you to embark. Please remain seated on the ferry until the ferry is tied up. There are restrooms located at the Isle of Palms ferry dock with an entry keypad (entry code is 4512).

If you are running late, the ferry may wait up to two (2) minutes if you call and request it in advance (843-568-3990). If you request the two minutes, you will not have time to load carts or gear.

Parking at the Marina

While visiting Dewees Island there are ample parking spaces at the Dewees Island Marina.

Guest information

To ensure safety to the community, owners must register their passenger's names and visit dates into the ferry terminal in advance. Ferry staff will not permit passengers onto the ferry who are not registered in advance.
