What Should I Do in Case of an Emergency?
If you have an emergency, call 9-1-1. For non-emergent needs, Dewees Island has a Public Safety officer on duty 24/7 that can be reached at 843.296.4952

When departing Dewees, the ferry must be called (843-568-3990) 45 minutes in advance to assist in the boat size selection. Be sure to tell the ferry staff how many people and pets you have, as well as how many carts you may need. To learn more about ferry departure times, click here. 

Does Dewees Island Recycle?
Yes, please empty your task and recycling at the designated areas at the Public Works Waste Disposal Area. For more information on property recycling, click here. 

Can I Park My Boat at the Docks on Dewees Island? 
Dewees Island docks are strictly permitted for homeowners, only. Vessels parked at Dewees Island docks must be clearly identified with a Dewees Island decal.

What Should I Pack for My Dewees Visit?
There are no restaurants or stores on the island, as food access is only on the mainland. Bring what you need to eat! Single serving plastic is banned. Please limit plastics and consider using all environmentally friendly products. For example, condensed laundry soap instead of large plastic containers. Use a soda stream instead of bringing cans and bottles for refreshments.

Where Can I Get My Packages Delivered?
There are mailboxes, located in the Landings building, for homeowners who live on the island full time. If you are not a full-time resident, there is a common mailroom for property owners. Packages are loaded into a locked room behind the mailboxes. You do not need a mailbox in order to have packages (i.e. FedEx or UPS) delivered to the Island, but they must be labeled with your name and lot number. 

Are Dogs Allowed on Dewees?
Yes! Dogs are allowed on Dewees Island. However, in consideration of neighbors and wildlife, pets are to be leashed or kenneled at all times on the ferry, ferry landing, or associated docks. In all other areas, pets should be leashed. Additionally, pet waste must be cleaned up by the owner.
