I look forward to connecting with everyone as we come together for the 2021 Property Owners Weekend on March 20!
The primary member of properties in good standing can expect an email from Dewees Island POA <firstname.lastname@example.org> regarding the 2021 Board of Directors Election & Annual Meeting Proxy.
Please note the following:
- The POA Board of Directors election is separate from the DUC Board of Directors election.
- All voting will be submitted electronically. There will be NO voting from the floor at the Annual Meeting.
- Only the primary member for your lot will receive the ballot. Each lot may vote ONCE, so you must coordinate with your spouse or other partners (in the case of multiple ownerships) as to how you will place your lot’s vote.
- The credentials carry the weight of the # of lots owned by the owner. For example, if you own two (2) lots, the weight of the vote is two (2).
There are three candidates for three open POA Directors positions. The candidates are Jim Doyle, Barbara McIntyre, each standing for a second term, and Shelley Cooper, standing for a first term. The recommendations of the Nominating Committee and biographies for the candidates can be found here
This year, we have three vacancies on the DUC Board of Directors. The candidates are Jim Doyle, Jim Henshaw and Jono Rabley, who have all indicated they are willing to run for another three-year term on the DUC Board.
Even if you do not plan to attend the meeting, please complete the proxy to help us meet quorum requirements.
Please save the date for March 20, and check the island website for annual meeting weekend updates. We have a fun lineup beginning on Friday, March 19 with a ZOOM Presentation ft. Memory Garden History and Design and will head over for a gathering to celebrate its 5-year anniversary with a bubbly toast at 6:30pm!
