February 10, 2017
Dear Dewees Island Property Owners:
We are pleased to announce the 25th Anniversary of the Dewees Island Community! We look forward to celebrating together during the 2017 POA Owners Weekend next month. Below you will find more information regarding the schedule of the program, as well as a link to RSVP for the festivities. But first, here are some important details regarding the Annual Meeting and the 2017 Board of Directors Election:
POA Annual Meeting
The Annual Property Owners Association Meeting will be held Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Huyler House (114 Dewees Inlet Drive, Dewees Island, SC). Registration for the DUC Annual Meeting will begin at 8:00 a.m. Registration for the Dewees Island POA Annual Meeting will follow at 9:00 a.m.
Back by popular demand we will be using electronic voting for the 2017 Dewees Island POA Directors Election. Please note the following:
● All voting will be submitted electronically. There will be NO voting from the floor at the Annual Meeting.
● Each lot can only vote ONCE so you must coordinate with your spouse or other partners (in the case of multiple ownerships) as to who will place your lot’s vote.
● Each lot will receive voting instructions the week of February 27th from firstname.lastname@example.org and a unique internet server access code. This code will be sent to you both by email and by post mail to all members of the POA. Again, ballots must be submitted electronically.
● POA Polls will be open Wednesday, March 1, 2017 and will close at 11:59 p.m. EST Thursday, March 16, 2017.
The private election and results will be performed by a certified voting service that uses a secure server for encryption of all submissions and results. The voting service will submit the final results to the Secretary of the Association and will be announced by the President of the Association at the conclusion of the Annual Meeting.
Candidates for Election
There are three candidates for three open Directors positions. The candidates are Bill Kastler, Larry McDevitt, and Tim Zitzman. The recommendations of the Nominating Committee and biographies for the candidates can be read here.
