Please Share the Golf Cart Path by Abiding the 3 Day Policy

April 12, 2018

Dear Community Members,

As we prepare for the busy season ahead, we’d like to remind our members, guests and paying guests about parking along the golf cart path at the front ferry dock.

As a policy refresher, carts parked along the cart path can only remain there for a maximum of 3 consecutive days.  After 3 days, owners must move their carts to an alternative spot, such as your home or to the Public Works storage area.

If you are a homeowner and you are leaving the island for more than three days, it is expected that you park your cart at your home and utilize one of the shuttle carts for transportation to the ferry immediately before your departure and upon your return.

Shuttle carts may be used for up to one hour by any owner.  This allowance should provide ample time to drive to your residence and then return the shuttle cart to the dock.  (You will be pleased to know that the POA has purchased four new shuttle carts for owners’ use this year, and the old shuttles will soon be recommissioned as staff carts.)

If you do not own a home, you are also permitted to park your cart at the Landings Buildings for short periods of time when using the island.  However, if you are not returning to the island for a significant period of time (such as more than two weeks), we ask that you please park your cart at the Public Works Storage area and utilize the shuttle carts in the same manner as homeowners.

As you all know, there are 14 temporary charging stations located at the Landings Building.  The purpose of the charging stations is to allow our owners to temporarily charge their carts while visiting the island. These charging stations are not to be used as a permanent resting area for any owner carts or contractor carts.  Understanding our island is expanding, we expect our owners to share the 14 temporary charging stations with their fellow neighbors.

If you are an owner who does not have a place for your cart, you can neatly park it under the sheltered area at Public Works.
Again, we thank you for your cooperation and assistance as we try to make room for our neighbors and guests along the front golf cart path.
