Your Nominating Committee met pursuant to the Bylaws on January 6 to identify property owners who would be qualified to serve as a member of the Board of Directors if elected during the annual meeting in March. Applying the standards prescribed by the Bylaws, the committee identified four nominees: Peter Cotton, Reggie Fairchild, Larry McDevitt, and Dwight Plemmons.
We have just learned, unfortunately, that Larry McDevitt has removed his name as a candidate. This means that we now have three nominees for three vacancies.
Because the Nominating Committee’s work is prescribed by the Bylaws, we have no authority to submit additional nominations. Property owners, however, may make additional nominations for the Board by submitting a written petition signed by ten percent or more of Property Owners in Good Standing. The Bylaws direct that only one signature may be counted for each lot, and that such nominations must be delivered in writing to the Board’s Secretary no later than February 19, 2016 (thirty days after the Secretary posted the names of nominees identified by the Nominating Committee). In addition, any such additional nominees must submit a completed Nominating Form to the Secretary at least 31 days prior to the Annual Meeting.
