Below are a few friendly reminders to ensure that we all have a fun and safe holiday weekend:
CALL THE FERRY IN ADVANCE
Be sure to call the ferry at least 10 minutes to the hour when leaving the island at 843.568.3990
The ferry schedule will remain the same on Monday, September 5th (no 1:00 p.m. departure from mainland).
BAGGAGE CARTS AT FERRY LANDINGS
Please be mindful of your neighbors with baggage cart use by compacting your luggage and leave carts for others
DRIVING ON THE ISLAND
Stay alert! Stop at all Stop signs. Must be of driving age, or have a proper Dewees Island under age driver’s license.

TRASH & RECYCLING DISPOSAL
Use designated disposal areas at Public Works
PROPANE TANK REFILLS
Need propane for grilling out for Labor Day Weekend? Be sure to do the following:
- Have your last name AND lot number labeled on your propane tank (if lot number is not on the tank, it cannot be refilled).2. Drop the tank off at the designated propane drop-off area located behind the Public Works building towards the right hand side. Richie, our Fire Chief, will have your tank refilled for you.
Construction contractors are not permitted on the island during Labor Day Weekend.
