Beach Olympics

Tuesday, July 6th @ 9:30 to 10:30 am – Ancient Dunes

Celebrate the 2021 Summer Olympics by trying out our Dewees Island version. Participants will compete against each other to see who fares better than our local wildlife. Please wear clothes that can get wet and sandy.


Intro to Birding

Saturday, July 10th & 24th @ 9 am – Landings Building

Learn tips and tricks for identifying common summer birds on Dewees Island.  Bring binoculars.  The program will last about 1 hour.


Marsh Madness

Tuesday, July 13th @ 4:30 to 5:30 pm – Ferry Dock

Help clean up the marsh. Who can collect the most trash? Bring gloves & bags will be provided.


Trash to Treasure Crafting

Friday, July 16th & Wednesday, July 28th @ 10:30 to 11:30 am – HH

Make a craft to take home using recycled items.


Family Movie Night

Monday, July 12th, 19th & 26th @ 6:30 pm – HH

Bring your sleeping bag, pillow, and a snack & join the Dewees Island Conservancy Interns for a nature themed PG movie. 


Howl at the Moon

Friday, July 23rd @ 8:00 pm – HH

Meet under the Huyler House for an introduction to coyote calls. Then, head out to see if we can experience coyote communication in person!


Turtle Track Detectives

Tuesday, July 27th @ 9:00 to 10:00 am – Ancient Dunes

Learn how to read the field signs of nesting loggerhead sea turtles with our sea turtle interns. Can you decipher the clues and guess which is a false crawl and which contains eggs?

 All children must be accompanied by an adult for the entire program.
