Dewees Island welcomes our newest staff member, Brittney “Brit” Burt, who will be serving as our Island Administrator beginning tomorrow, June 4.
Brit has over ten years of experience in marketing and communications with various agencies and organizations. Five years ago, Brit moved to Charleston and transitioned into the nonprofit sector in order to utilize her skills for the common good. In her previous role as Marketing Project Manager with Water Mission, Brit was able to provide support to COVID-19 relief efforts around the world.
Prior to living in South Carolina, Brit resided in Florida, where she worked on Sanibel Island and discovered her love of barrier islands. Brit currently lives on Johns Island with her rescue puppy and enjoys kayaking, biking, shelling, and exploring the Lowcountry.
Brit will serve as the primary point of contact for our island residents and community members and serve as the HR representative for POA employee relations. Brit’s extensive marketing and communications background will also be beneficial to help complete and manage our new website and island communications.
Beginning next week, Brit can be reached at 843.568.3992 or firstname.lastname@example.org . Brit will ultimately be the point of contact for anything customer service related: property signs, barge or equipment scheduling, Huyler House reservations, ferry terminal, or website access.
