What day are you coming to Dewees for the eclipse? One more quick survey to fill out, please!

Dear Islanders,

We are working hard to ensure the eclipse experience on Dewees is as safe, smooth, and pleasant as possible. Help us plan transportation by sending an approximate guess of how many people you anticipate needing each ferry the weekend of the eclipse using the survey link below. This is NOT a reservation, and we know you might get sidetracked by traffic or changes in plans. But the more specific you can be, the better we can plan.

Click here to complete the survey to let us know when you plan to arrive and depart from Dewees.

Other things to keep in mind as you plan for the big weekend next month:

Car Parking
Understanding parking is limited at the marina lot, we encourage owners to move vehicles in the lot that are NOT used regularly. Removing stagnant vehicles will help us gauge parking capacity while we continue to research a parking plan.

Golf Cart Parking
If you are not actively using your golf cart on the island, we kindly ask that you move carts off the dock lineup at the Landings. If your cart has been stationed at the Landings Building and it is not being used, or if it does not work, please have the cart relocated or removed.

Guests
Dewees Island is anticipating the busiest weekend in Dewees history for the eclipse event. Please keep in mind that homeowners are responsible for their guests and visitors to the island.

Pack Light
As you begin to plan for your stay on Dewees, pack light. Ferries will be at full capacity and luggage carts will be limited.  Handheld items are encouraged. Bicycles on the ferry during the busy weekend may not be permitted due to limited space.

Activities
On Friday, August 18th before happy hour at the Huyler House, we will have 4 guest speakers coming from NASA and CofC to provide an educational eclipse presentation.

On Monday, August 21st from 9:30 am – 11:30 am Lori Sheridan Wilson, Environmental Program Director, will have “drop-in” solar eclipse themed activities at the Huyler House for kids of all ages.
*All children are required to be accompanied by an adult. No drop-offs, please.

Glasses
If you need glasses for eclipse viewing, please contact Lori at lori@deweesislandsc.com

Thanks again for participating in our survey. Stay tuned for more details on eclipse plans next week!
